Listen First Friday
My Neighbor’s Voice was the focus of Listen First Friday on September 23, 2022.
In this short video, Mary Anne Inglis and Victoria Chance, co-founders of My Neighbor's Voice, describe the premise of their nonprofit.
My Neighbor's Voice Listening Cards are a deck of community questions designed to inspire deeper communication between participants of all backgrounds.
In practice, this is achieved by the help of a trained moderator, who creates a safe and hospitable space. The moderator also keeps each speaker to a 3 minute time limit which allows for an equitable experience for everyone.
Participating in a My Neighbor's Voice listening session requires listening without pushback, as commentary is held until the end during a moderated reflection. As a result, participants walk away with a deeper understanding of their neighbors and growing from the experience.
